has anyone any know about a car all a sudden not able to enter park gear
my shifter got flimsy and park would not work the key was shut off and now it is stuck inbetween or in a gear not all the way out of a gear going into another gear. I started getting the sterring co
I am concered about placing a new columb in but not able to get the car into gear still not knowing if the columb sliiped or something else about the vehichle thanks
It sounds like there is a problem with the shifting linkage. You would probably need to remove the outer cover on the column to inspect the linkage. Looking under the dash may give you some clues as to what is going on.
theres a plastic clip 2-3 inches above your shifter, if you unclip it and put your key in it will shift again !
Hello, Look to the Linkage Bushing(s) that come FROM the column (outside of cabin, under hood, where steering shaft leaves the firewall) and attach all the way down to the tranny,...Many plastic bushings...(3 I can think of)...Known Problems...ANY/all that are rotted, missing, etc, will cause play int he "normal" travel of the entire shifting linkage. Don't overlook the one at the actual shift lever (last one in the series) coming OUT of the tranny, that had the above mentioned linkage attached to it.>> You are looking for "play"...and its so tight when right, you can manipulate by hand, at the top to the bottom, and there will be NO play.
