Hi my name is Bobby and I have a 1997 Mercury Cougar with 116000 miles but it has been having some problems lately. I has this dead spot at about 1/4 throttle no matter when you give it gas. But as so
-on as you get past tht it runs like a raped
ape. I scanned it and it was giving me o2
sensor and running lean codes. If anyone
could give me some help I would appreciate
it. And I will give further information if
needed. Thank You
ok...running lean..first( cheap) put 2 bottles zmax fuel additive in it and drive it.. if its still running lean change the 02 sensors...if that doesnt fix it put attn...rat....on this post
I replaced o2 sensors right after the manifolds wich are really the only ones that matter and the TPS and nothing happened. But then I unplugged the o2 sensors and reset the ecu wich got rid of it if you slowly accelerate but if you pop the throttle it falls on its face. By the way thanks for answering

OR VACUUM LEAK...
I was thi king vacuum line too but wasn't sure thankyou
ok..keep me/us posted.
