Question type: Maintenance & Repair

i have a 1998 mercury mystique, thought the starter was bad, replaced the starter which is next to impossible and when we went to start the car same problem, grinding teeth and not being able to start the car. so we are guessing the fly wheel is damaged. what do you do to remove the flywheel

You have a choice, you can remove the engine, or the transmission, or remove the whole thing as a unit then separate and replace the ring gear or flywheel depending on what transmission you have.
