Catalytic converter in '16 Crosschek
On start up, when the car is cold, there is a noise that sounds like metal rubbing against metal. When the engine is warm no problem. My Subaru dealer says it is just the Catalytic converter heating up and considers it a none issue. I'm wondering if it's something that will continue to get worse. My warranty ends soon so I'm looking for a better answer than that!
When metal expands or contracts it can make noises.
Take the car to another mechanic and pay him for his review. If different than the dealer, and I suspect it will be, take this to dealer and discuss it. Could be that Subaru dealer doesn't want to do anything with warranty expiring soon. You DO need to know.
Thanks, best idea
