Please explain more clearly the "ding, ding noise" and where would you say it is coming from ? Your foot is on the brake and you are "shifting gears out of park" into ? (what), "while keeping your foot on the brake until properly in gear" ? A lot of people lift their foot off the brake before the gear selector is properly in gear, so the transmission teeth grinding makes noise. A "tune up" (cap, rotor, plugs and wires) has nothing to do with gear shifting noises.
