I have a 02 mercury mountaineer and the check
charging system light keeps coming on I have
changed the alternator 5 times with the best one
lasting 2 weeks 4 were ringing remanufactured the
other was brand new they all have lifetime
warranties it is still continuing to do it I do not
know if it is the computer and if it is where it is
located I had it tested and they said that it was
good but it is still acting up anything would help
thank you

Check in owners manual or go on line for owners manual and check location of alternator fuse to see if it is blown or bad relay.

Check power going to the wire that is screwed onto alternator with a test light should have constant power going to it even with key not in the ignition. If no power may have a fusable like in that wire.

probably the fusible link [ red wire with lt blue tracer ] that runs from alternator to main wire from fuse block . I think its a brown wire that turns to red with blue tracer that is the fusible link

its your wired electrical system. Its corroded, (rot!) Check it running from your cars solenoid pack to the transmission this is where the problem usually is but it can be just about anywhere a complete diagnoses by a car dealership should pin down the problem.

I have a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer I don’t have any power at all not even to blow the horn you’ll be home from work Turn it off try to restart it later though I don’t have any power lights won’t come on home and won’t blow
