Rear lights

Asked by Jun 07, 2017 at 04:17 PM about the 2004 Mercury Sable LS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I  have a mercury sable 2004. I recently replaced
both rear light assemblies but the wiring is
different. The 2004 lights i took out and replaced
with 2003 lights. Equaling less wires on 2003
lights. They have 4 or 5 wires. The origonal lights i
took out have like 8 or more wires. So if i use left or
right directionals, the rear directionals both blink,
like hazard.  I got the back up and brake lights
connected properly.  But cannot get blinkers  ( rear)
to work as they should.  Im sure due to all the extra
wires coming from the harness and yhe
replacement lights 2003) having less wires then
the lights i took out. Anyone help with this? Or, is
there an online  diagram for my 2004 rear lights
wiring ?
