Asked by Jul 01, 2014 at 09:59 PM about the 2004 Mercury Mountaineer Convenience AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The truck makes popping sounds
while driving it as well as even louder
when you turn the wheel.  Looked

is broken.

Don't try to change the 4 wheel to a 2 wheel drive. Your vehicle isn't made for it and you'll just make a mess of things.
