Why are some wheels painted and not polished? Can you polish the painted
wheels?

Depends on how the manufacturer wants the car to look. If they are painted, I would wax them or use a non abrasive polish.

You can have the paint stripped and the wheels polished. I think painted wheels are mostly an economy measure.

The painted weeks were used for spare tires ! My Marauder still has the original spare tire on a painted or silver wheel.
