Has anyone had anything major wrong with
the timing

Engine making noise. Was told it was timing. And sound is coming from front of engine not the back. Heard is easy if it's front and costly if it's the back. But was going to purchase an 05 Mercury mountaineer for 500 but I'm a little worried if it's a major timing issue or a simple timing fix. Contemplating on buying it whether it's a good deal or not. What's your opinion???

If the front chain is going out the rear chain will be next. Can you afford to lose the $500 tomorrow?
