2005 mercury mountaineer stuck in park

Asked by Aug 25, 2015 at 01:52 PM about the 2005 Mercury Mountaineer 4 Dr STD SUV

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It happens occasionally and freaks me out.  I cannot move the shifter out of park.

Most common is the lock out solenoid getting loose connections or just plain going bad, it is under the console towards the dash on the left side of the shiftier.
