2005 check charging system light in Mountaineer

Asked by Jul 20, 2019 at 02:31 PM about the 2005 Mercury Mountaineer Convenience RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Lost power suddenly, tried to jump, removed jumper cables and it went dead,
(this was at night), checked the battery, it was replaced, light still on, battery
maintained half way through the gauge on test drive, should the battery gauge
signal go to H since its a new one or is half way where it should be? Why does
check system light remain on?
