My car stays running after I turn the key off. Only way to kill it is to unhook the relay. The gas light doesn't work and the brakes randomly lock up

Sounds like you have a bad ignition switch. Does the gas gauge work? If not the low fuel light won't work either. Sounds like your brake pads and rotors/shoes and drums are contaminated with leaking brake fluid. Definitely time for a complete brake job. Don't put this off. Brakes are a safety issue. Don't want you having an accident!! HTH. -Jim
