Won't stay running

Asked by Jul 18, 2016 at 06:38 PM about the 1998 Ford Mustang GT Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My mustang full of fuel WILL CRANK but immediately
shuts off. Could this be theft system issue.
Keep in mind there was a little black wire by the negative
terminal that burned off the frame when my subwoofer
system burned my terminals off. Maybe this little wire??

A little wire can sometimes cause big trouble.

So I take it then that you disconnected the battery to fix the short, when the battery power is lost the security is set to turn on by default, so fix all the wiring and then run the security system shutdown procedure listed in the owners manual.
