Thanks

I was told that i could position the key with the chip n it in front of the lock cylinder and crank it over and it will start. Is this true

Quote: "Can I program a second key myself if I have one working key?" No, here are your options... 1. "Preferred Option: Call or go to an Automotive Locksmith and they will have to connect a special computer to your vehicle to program the second key. 2. Go to a Dealership and they will have to connect a special computer to your vehicle to program the second key."

If you have two working keys, then there is a procedure to do it yourself for the third key.

It is possible to hold the key very close to the new key when cranking then if the car starts follow the procedure for reprogramming

Update,,,, If you have an older antitheft unit then it may not be possible due to the older units using a resistor inside the key .. and .. because U can't get 2 keys in the slot .. U may be screwed /// How bad did you mangle the old tumblr .. perhaps the locksmith can do an exorcism on it
