My 98 mustang has a different rear end the rear axle seal goes to a 87 to 90 toyota trecel how is that possible

Doubtful that it has a toyota rearend, engineers design components like seals and bearings that can be used on a wide variety of products, like for instance an alternator bearing in a ford might also be used as an axle bearing in a go kart. It may have that vehicle listed in the parts book because it will also fit that one and many more applications.
