My son lost his key to 2001 Mazda mpv how do I replace the key cylinder tumbler without having the original key?

Before you do that, check with your local Mazda Dealer and see if your keys codes are still on file. If so they can make you new keys using the vehicle identification number (VIN). You'll need to show proof of ownership when you go get the keys. Your photo driver's license and the vehicle registration will do. GM keeps key codes on file for 15 model years. Hopefully you'll be lucky and Mazda does too. HTH. -Jim

If you can't get a replacement key, have a good mechanic put a new ignition switch in- this is not really a do it yourself job-
