What Should I Fix First?

Asked by Guru9D642V Nov 15, 2020 at 09:11 PM about the 2002 Mazda Tribute ES V6

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Trying to see what could be the problem with my
2002 Mazda Tribute. First my ABS light popped on
the after a few minutes of sitting with the car
running my dash lights started to fade out. The
when i put the truck in gear and pressed the breaks
my truck shut off. I jumped the car to see if i can
make it home but it died again. Some feel its the
alternator due to it gaining power but shutting back
off. Also my breaks lights came on & the check
engine light had already been on for a week prior to
this incident. Any ideas of whats going on cause im
lost.

Were you able to get the codes the check engine light was telling you about?

Ok....if you can get ahold of a diagnostic tool (code reader) that will give you a good idea where to start
