Mazda Protegé 2002
My transmission works fine wile running but when
the car is cold ( mornings ) When I put it in reverse
it take it quickly but when I put it in Drive it takes a
couple of seconds to take it and I notice it's taking
a little more time now . What could it be? Cause I
thought it needed oil but level is OK and oil is clean
Good, but when was it last serviced? The filters do get clogged and need changed. It could also be a solenoid problem starting, you might want to get it scanned for any transmission codes, if you catch it early you can avoid an expensive repair later.
I just bought this car 6 months ago but your right, I'll take care of the filter and solenoids. I just don't know much about transmissions and needed an opinion, so thanks you so much.
What I have always done when I buy a used car is change all the fluids, and the timing belt if it has one, then check all of the belts, hoses and replace them if needed.
