My daughter's 2002 Mazda 626 drivers door won't open! She said a screw was sticking out, but she closed it anyway! We tried tugging and pushing but don't want to damage anything further. How do we get to it?

Sounds like the screw, probably on the door track at the bottom is holding it up. While one person is pulling on the handle on the outside, another can be inside pushing on the door with their shoulder forcing it open. I would assume you will be replacing the screw and adding some touchup paint to the door.

She states that the screw was on the door by the latch, "a big one". We tried to pull/push and it did move about a half an inch but we were afraid of damaging it.
