Is a 2003 Mazda tribute es a free floating engine?

Asked by Oct 29, 2016 at 07:49 AM about the 2003 Mazda Tribute ES V6 4WD

Question type: General

Started my tribute to leave work and when I turned
the key it sounded like my engine blew up. I opened
the hood and discovered the intake manifold blew
apart. I am almost positive it is my timing belt...I
can't find information if the engine is free floating
or not.

Praying it is so the pistons are not bent.

The Duratec V6 in your Mazda uses a timing chain not a belt.
