catalitic converter

Can you put a universal catalitic converter on a mazda mpv or is there any way to disconect it where it doesnt show up on the comp. I need to inspect this car it runs perfect but i cant inspect it

you can buy one your self for a bout 150.00 from pepboys or auto zone. Mine just bolts off and on. But its a 91. Cant help you with computer problems.
almost forgot it could be your carbon canister, Its a black round and long clyinder uder your hood with a hose running to your carburator. If you can pay to have some one tell you what it is you can probably replace theses items. if not you might just be replacing stuff you dont need to. I would have some one check it to tell you,i think its around 75.00
