Does anyone know why the front airdam is so large on a 2018 chevrolet suburban

It's the way chevy designed it. The air dam is to route air under the truck, if you don't like it you can easily remove it.
Aerodynamics. If you remove it you may lose some fuel economy.

does anybody make a shorter ( i.e. higher ground clearance) replacement available ?
