2000 Ford Lincoln LS Transmission Slipping

Greetings can you please explain to me what
would cause all gears to slip in the automatic  and
all gears to slip except 1st gear when using the
manual shift. Is this something that can be fixed
without doing a rebuild?

transmission is toast, time for a rebuild or reman unit.
