Transmission

Asked by Jun 19, 2017 at 12:12 AM about the 2000 Lincoln LS V8

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2000 Lincoln LS V8 with the
ambidextrous shifting and one day I was
driving in automatic and it wouldn't
accelerate so I pulled over put it in park and
then put it back in drive and it wouldn't go
still so I moved it over to standard-setting
and it would drive then all the sudden when
you go into reverse I have a friend who told
me that if it has the hydraulic clutch and the
fluid is low that that might be the problem
I'm wondering if I might need a new
transmission or if I should spend the money
that I really don't have to get it looked at
instead of selling it
