I have a 2000 lincoln v8 and it died at 75 mph and wont start back up does anybody know what it could be

I just had the same problem on 2002 V8. Took it to the dealer here is what they did: Air filter housing not latched allowed air to by-pass filter suspect that debris struck the hot wire in the "mass air flow sensor". Clean sensor and replaced air filter.
