brand new battery and alternator light came on and car died why

The most common thing would be the alternator not maintaining the charge in the battery. Recharge your battery, then see if the engine will start, if it does then check the voltage at the battery with the engine running it should be around 14.2 to 14.8 volts, if not then you either have a bad alternator or a wiring problem in the charging circuit and the Fords do have wiring problems in the charging circuits, most common area is the pigtail at the alternator.
