I have a 1998 Ford Escort ZX2, my problem: If you plow through a puddle the Fan belt (SERPENTINE) derails, apparently the tensor does not hold it well enough. Is there a kit or solution for this?

Check under the front end for a missing splash guard. Also at both wheel wells. This will allow water to get on the belt and cause it to slip off the pulleys. Try some belt dressing as well. Your local auto parts store will have some. It comes in a spray can. HTH. -Jim
