How do you open the rear door on a 2001 Kia Sportage 4x4? Can anyone help Please!
I do not know how to release the tire or cable on the back door of my 2001 Kia Sportage 4x4. I know key goes in the lock on tire and that is as far as I get. Can someone please help? Door opens like a right side door not a hatch and I feel pretty stupid ;not being able to open a door on my own car. I bought this car used and the previous owner probably thought I could figure it out. Sorry to say I cant.
I assume you have a two door, half hard top. The "lock" on the tire is to remove the security piece from the lug nut so it is harder to steal the spare. The handle (and lock) should be on the far right of the tailgate. Look at the attached picture (if it is attached), the handle and lock are near the right side taillight. Hope that helps.
