2018 GMC Terrain SLT w/15,000 miles on it.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2018 GMC Terrain SLT has an issue.  After first getting this issue repaired by a dealer when they said I had a bad wiper motor draining the battery. They put in the second battery replacement as well.  I let is sit for a couple weeks.  Upon going out to start it and pull it out of the garage the car wouldn't start.  Said depress the brake to start.  The battery is fully charged and at 12.35volts.  I tried jumping the car and it still says depress brake to start.  The battery this time was not dead so no reason.  I put it on a trickle charge over night and this morning it showed green.  Still won't start.  Biggest problem seems to be that the brake won't depress enough to get in a starting mode.   Suggestions?

Sounds like a bad brake light switch. If the brake lights don't come on when you step on the brake pedal, it's definitely the brake light switch. Hope that helps! Jim
