Why does our daughter's 2004 Kia seem to be in neutral on occasion when in Drive?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Perhaps the transmission mount has been comprimized, (diagonal tear, rot) these aren't too expensive to replace if this is the cause...go see it poked at with a screwdriver by an experienced hand...take it in. You know now that it ain't gonna be but around $50 for the part-

I take it that you have an automatic tranny, check the fluid level, add if needed to prevent any damage to tranny, then have the transmission serviced, a few dollars now could save the tranny from total failure.
