'91 YJ Wrangler cuts out after driving in traffic

Asked by Feb 26, 2014 at 10:04 AM about the 1991 Jeep Wrangler 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I drive the Jeep in stop and go traffic for any length of time and the traffic finally breaks free, the engine cuts out when I get to the higher end of the power band through the gears. I'm not quite sure where to begin looking for a problem. Around town, no issues, the 4 cyl runs quite well. Only after stop and go traffic....any thoughts?
