Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a jeep Cherokee 1992 Laredo  it starts
up fine however you  have to keep pumping
the gas otherwise it shuts off and the
gauges constantly twitch   while the internal
over head lights won't turn on along with the
seat adjusting switches won't work . Is this
all connected?  what could be making the
engine shut off? No one seems to be able to
figure it out

It sounds like a main power or ground pathway is going bad. I have heard but never seen that some folks are having main power distribution box trouble. So I would say to make sure all of you power supply and ground connections are clean and tight, and there are quiet a few grounds that need checked on any Jeep and don't forget those inside the rig also, both sides of the dash and some right down the middle of the lower dash close to the upper console pylon.
