Truck won't move
Got a 99 ranger 2.5L 5 speed when I get ready to
drive off I put it in gear release the clutch the truck
will not move feels like the parking brake is
engaged or the throw out bearing or slave cylinder
your shifter levers are jammed , your in two gears at same time ,check the shifter linkage !
That sounds like the clutch disc and or the pressure plate are worn out, if the clutch master or slave cylinder go bad the clutch is fully engaged and won't release when the pedal is pressed, you are going to have to remove the tranny to find out for sure and if it is the clutch don't try to short cut the repairs, replace the slave cylinder, pilot bushing and have the flywheel turned, you do have a few different options on clutches all depending on you drive, your parts supplier can help you with that choice. Ford ranger no move in drive what cause that problem
Check the fluid, if it black and smells burnt then you have your answer, time for a rebuild, if the fluid is clean and bright then it is possible that you may have a electronic problem, check the codes and see if any transmission codes are stored. If that is all clear then the next thing is to take it to a good tranny shop for further testing. It’s possible it may have broke something internally, possibly a clutch pack snap ring.
