electric or vacuum problem

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1994 Jeep Cherokee 4.0
404,000 miles! Lately, I'm stumped. When
the car starts initially, it runs fine. If, I stop in
a store, an come back out, try to start it Hot,
it'll start, initially, then start immediately
spitting and choking and losing cylinders
until it dies..... it smells like that diesling,
rotten egg smell....
If I let it cool down, it'll start again.... ?

That sounds like vapor locking, you may want to check the fuel lines, make sure they aren't too close to a heat source, sometimes shielding the lines can help. then check your fuel pressure and flow, the pressure might be good but a poor flow or good flow but low pressure. Then there is the infamous crankshaft position sensor, this one sensor has caused more grief to Jeep owners, so if you have recently replace it do so. Thats all all I got. HTH
