where is the solenoid located on a 1999 ford mustang

my son tried to crank his 99 ford mustang and all he heard was a click, so he
bought a new starter. Once installed the same thing happened, people says
that it is the solenoid but we cannot find it, it is not where they say it is. Could
it be on the starter?

A dead battery will give you the same symptom, did you check the voltage of the battery yet?
