head gasket, intake manifold gasket; are they in close proximity to each other? which one sits on the block ? can both fail simultaneously?

antifreeze in oil pan and oil in coolant resovoir. no smoke.

The head gasket is between the head and the block. The intake manifold gasket is in between the head and the intake manifold. You apparently have a leak between a coolant passage and a combustion chamber. If the intake has a coolant passage it could leak into the manifold and then run into the engine.
