12 volt power outlet not working now

Asked by Nov 29, 2010 at 06:11 PM about the 2004 Jeep Wrangler Sport

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought a cb for my 2004 wrangler.  I must have reversed the positive and negative wires
from the cb to my 12 volt cigarette plug adapter. I know I blew the fuse on the cb and
changed it.  Now the 12 volt Plug on my jeep is not working.  The cigarette lighter on it is still
working.  I assume I blew the fuse on the 12 volt power on the jeep  too.

I am not sure which fuse to check. I did check under the hood in that fuse box.  Which one
is it?

Thank you in advance.

Respectfully,

Dave...

Im a owner operator,so I know CB,s,if cig lighter is still working you blew the CB,you can have it fixed, just have them fix it so it to hook up on eather side pos to neg-neg to pos, then you wont have to worrie about this happening again.

CB blew a fuse. I changed it and it works. Cigarette lighter works. It is the 12 volt power receptacle next to the cigarette lighter on the jeep that is not working. I am not sure which is the fuse for it.

OK,the fuses should be numbered and say what each one is for,if not you can pull one out at a time and check it to see if blown,do 1 fuse at a time.if no fuses are blown,it could have blone a fuseable link underdash,it still may just be a blown fuse.

it also has a fuse box under dash on drivers side.
