can I put a 4.0 v-6 in a v-8 explorer

I want to put a 1999 ford explorer 4.0 v-6 in a 1998 v-8 explorer is this possible?

It is possible if you have all of the electrical systems, ECM, wiring harness, etc. Stick with the V8 your better off with a proven engine.
