hi i have a 1999 ford explorer with a 4.0 l with vin code x . the top radiator
flattens out like sucks together  . no over heat,  flushed system ,changed
thermostat,heat there sometimes and sometime not

Low coolant usually causes this, the hoses must be full, too much of this can internally damage the hoses.
