2006 keep liberty key ignition

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Tried turning off car but vehicle won't
shut off. I could remove key out it in
turn it, but car stayed on. Checked fuel
and start fuses and undid battery. Now
it won't start again. Don't know what
could be wrong or how to fix it. Don't
wanna buy a new ignition and it not
work still.

Can you hear the fuel pump engage? If not you'll need to disassemble the steering column, it's either the ignition itself, or a little piece that looks like a hollow key opposite the keyhole. If it's the key shaped piece you're going to require specialty tools to replace
