Back window won't latch shut

Here, I'll answer my own question. It's the Solenoid Mircro Switch that goes on the tailgate handle.

The latch on the tail gate gets Bent in you need to bend it out a little bit with a prybar large screwdriver

This was the answer! We tried everything. Our latch had moved back too far for the window latch to catch. We used a screwdriver and pried the entire mechanism forward. Glass latch attached! Thank you.

Just to make things more clear..... Push in the rear window latch mechanism. Now unlock the car. If the mechanism does not open, then the solenoid needs replaced. If the mechanism opens, then it's simply bent toward the front of the vehicle too far to latch properly. Remove the plastic cover protecting the back of the tailgate. Bend the mechanism toward the rear of the vehicle. Did this today and it worked like a charm

The latch bar attached to the window itself can be adjusted by loosening the two nuts and sliding it down. There is about a half inch of adjustment available. Over time this bar can move a little and then it does not fully catch on the actual door latch assembly in the door. Just loosen the nuts, adjust the bar down and then tighten. Very simple adjustment.

My latch on the window has no nuts no adjustment.

I done all these options. Nothing is working.

the metal piece on the window is glued to the glass and what happens is that the fasteners/bolts break away from the rubber mount. So unless you are able to separate the "latch" from the glass and find a replacement latch, then glue it back to the glass in the exact same spot, your best bet might be to find a window with the latch on the glass. now if you're lucky you might be able to make that little adjustment mentioned in earlier messages

The latch mechanism has two 13 mm nuts that can be loosened. You can then slid the assembly forward and aft. Some models have nuts on the window side. You can take the hasp off and insert a spacer. If that fails, you can just get a hammer and bend the latch assembly on the door forward. This was the path I took as the car is old and no amount of adjustment did the trick.
