Has anyone experienced problems with the "dial shift selector" on a 2017 Land Rover Discovery Sport

On a recent test drive, the selector knob would not dial from "Drive" to "Park."
My foot was on the brake, and I tried several times. My passenger tried - and
was successful on his second try.

You should tell your LR dealer about this.

Thanks, but the sales rep was in the back seat . . . I'm sure he assumed it was "user error."

I have had the same problem with selector knob on my 2017 Discovery turning it from Sport mode to Drive and it won't go any further.

I had an incident happen today with my 2018 Discovery Sport Dynamic edition. I started the vehicle, put my purse on the passenger side floor and went to get my dog. When I put my purse on the floor, it must have grazed the gear knob and it went into reverse without me even turning/touching the knob. The vehicle went into reverse and hit my husbands vehicle. Had my husbands vehicle not been there, I would've been run over!! So now I have 2 damaged vehicles with a few thousands dollars of damage due to this faulty gear knob. I called my friend who has the same vehicle and a similar incident happened to her! Anyone else have an issue like this??
