Unavle to remove Alternato 1999 Ford Contour 6cy

Asked by Jul 19, 2015 at 02:37 AM about the 1999 Ford Contour 4 Dr SE Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I am removing the alternator from my 199 Ford Contour, 6CY. I'm down to the bolt at the lower left corner. It's very difficult to get a socket on it. When I do there is no room to move the wrench, no matter which angle I try. None of the forums I've read mention this problem and how to get the bolt off.

Did you remove the tie-rod end? http://www.10w40.com/questions/auto- repair-questions/remove-and-install-alternator-1999-ford-contour-25-dohc

Yes, That allowed me to get my hand around the bracket to feel the bolt and get a socket on it, but there doesn't seem to be room back there to move the wrench, thanks
