1999 Ford Contour 4 cyl. 2.0 lts. automatic. 126,000 miles. Car acted up last 3 or 4 days - when stopping at a traffic light almost died like it wouldn't go into idle, then it kicked in fine. Yesterday heater blower fan stopped working. Drove it home and went to look at it today but would not start at all. Tries to, cranks and almost catches. Noticed "funky smell" when parked it yesterday? Not sure if blower fan related or just coincidence? Could this just be a plugs, wires, coil, tuneup issue? (It's overdue). Or can you give me a checklist of items to go through first/easiest. Not a good mechanic, but no codes are showing, no check engine light.

HI,,,Iam not for sure on this one,but if it was my vehicle I would check the T.P.S.,,,TROTTLE POSITION SENSOR,,,, GOOD LUCK!!!!!!
