why the car wont start

Our car wont start so my husband put a new battery in. It started and he took it for a drive and when he came back turned it off and tried to start it and wouldnt start. Put a new alternator on and it started twice. Took it out and drove it came back and shut it off and tried to start it and wont start. All the lights come on but wont start. Help please!

Check the battery cables, could be corroded or loose at either end. What is the voltage on the battery?

That is the CCA or cold cranking Amps, put a voltmeter on the battery, do you have 12.4volts?
