problems with stalling shifting now transmission light flashing

Asked by Mar 02, 2016 at 02:24 PM about the 2002 Isuzu Rodeo LSE 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So at first I noticed The car would more like stall more like it wasn't getting gas or something then a trans slipping when going from a stand still to taking off. Over weeks it has gotten worse now won't shift after I get to 30mph. At the same time the check trans light started blinking. However my car since I bought it has the check engine light has been on due to a catalytic converter giving high emissions. I am a single mom with not much money so please any advice is appreciated! Is the tranny shot or could this be a more simple problem

Trans light blinking means there is a fault code stored and or the transmission is overheating. Heat is the killer of transmissions. The fluid just might be low from leaking out causing your issue, torque convertor locking up prematurely or something more serious. That's why I don't recommend driving with any lights lit up on the dash. Your SUV is telling you it needs some care. Best to have it looked at ASAP before your stuck on the side of the road.
