Can I put 18" rims on my 2010 Wrangler Unlimted Sport with no lift?

Asked by Feb 16, 2010 at 06:36 PM about the 2010 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport 4WD

Question type: Car Customization

I just purchased a 4dr Wrangler Sport and would like to put some 18 inch Rockstar rims on it. I'm concerned that I will need to lift it up. Does anyone know if you can put this rims with say a Terra Grappler tire on the jeep will it fit?

You can do whatever you want as long as you don't put to big of a tire on. Stay around the 32in range and you'll be fine, no matter what size of rim.

why would you want to put a 18inch rim on a jeep put a 15 inch rim on and put some real tires on it somthin with some meat

The Wrangler Sahara's come with stock 18's. I suggest you get 15 or 16 inch rims. 1 they allow your tires to gain more grip in off-road situations, and 2 the tires for 18's are ridiculous expensive! We own a Sahara, and when these tires wear out i'm buying a smaller set of rims, but bigger tires. It cost the same as buy new tires for the 18 inch wheels!

I too just bought a 2010 Wrangler Sport. It came with the 16" rims and small tires and I was thinking about putting the 15" wheels on there for that reason of more meat, however, would 15" rims fit without rubbing the brake caliper? I also have a 2006 Chevy p/u and it came stock with 17" wheels and I would like to go to a 16", but it would rub the caliper. Thanks.

The 15" rims won't rub the calipers. You can prove this for yourself by measuring from the outside of the caliper to the inside of the rim. If there's more than 1/2" there you will know how much room you really have for the smaller rim. But, I am sure that the 15" rims WILL fit without hurting your calipers. The only thing you have to worry about now is which tires you want to put on those new rims.
