Clock and Date Malfunction
My experience matches those previously posted. No time or date and no way to change manually.
Let hope they get this addressed post haste..
2014 Kia Soul here— same problem!! I thought I was insane. I’m glad to read it’s not just me. So weird!!!!
Wow, how interesting. The clock (date and time) on our 2017 Kia Sportage SX Turbo AWD just stopped working 2 days ago as well. Too coincidental, right?
Disconnect the 12v battery for about 2 minutes, then reconnect. It works. Resetting the system (remove SD card or pressing reset) did not work,.
Find the question "date and time" on this forum, over 100 posts in the past 3 days. In a word it seems to be a satellite problem; perhaps related to an update, perhaps something else. Optima, Soul, Sorento and Niro owners have rung in on this. I got my Niro clock back by hitting the reset button (see picture) with a ballpoint pen. Some have reported success by disconnecting the battery for several minutes - this could prove difficult to do with a hybrid. If the reset button doesn't work, consider turning off the main fusebox switch, located in the center of the fuse box, for 10 minutes. Pulling the MultiMedia fuse for 30 seconds did not fix the problem for me.
Just fixed . With the car off took off the SD card then put back turn on car then go to setup then system info press update even if it gives the error keep pressing retry I did it like twice and that's it the time is back with the date ..it worked for my 2015 Kia optima sxt
I second Jess619, this is the method I just used to fix my 17 Sportage SX
I just fixed the problem on my car. The same exact issue on my Kia Sorento. I simply change the language which I assume Force the car to pull the information from the satellite. After doing so it return to normal. Then I switched the language back
My clock quit about 2 days ago. I used the reset button and the clock now works. All the other advice was helpful also.
I tried switching language and back and that didn't work - I even turned the car off and back on before switching language, and it still didn't work. I don't know how to tag specific people here - guru193C7 - WHICH reset button? I have a 2014 Kia Soul. thanks all! this is driving me nuts lol
I have a brand new 2020 Kia Sportage and I just got the car back from having body work and upon getting the car back it has the greyed out clock issue described here. I’m taking to the dealer for an oil change soon anyway so I’m hoping they will have an answer
