Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The fuse links on the buzz box. Can I
replace it with just a regular fusible link
from the Parts House.

Sounds stupid but just a regular 20 watt fuse will replace 20 watt fusible link on the buzz box?

Yes, but 20 amp not watts. The difference between fuse link and a regular fuse, fuse link will opens the circuit when it physically gets hot or when current exceeds it's rating. Regular fuse opens with high current only

And that is why you see a lot of burned out fuse boxes, the circuit has a lot of resistance that overheats the connections but it is not a short, so the fuse runs a lot hotter than it should.

Someone told me add a link between alternator and battery. So it would charge higher. So i took one off firewall because it was two wires in the same spot. Then left one link for both wires now its dumping a ton of fuel but alternator is charging.
